It has been some time since I have read the first book in this series “Prophesy“ which I enjoyed a lot. Thankfully as soon as I started reading this one, everything about the first book came back to me. I love when that happens. I also remembered how bad I wanted to read Alek and Belleron’s story…and let me tell you, I was not disappointed !!
This book starts exactly where the last when left us, and just so you know…it can NOT be read as a stand-alone. You won’t understand what the hell is happening, so if you want to read this series, start with the book 1 !!
Last time we saw Alek and Bell, things were quite strained… with Alek pretty much throwing (read attacking) himself at Bell.
Alek has always wanted a mate…to find someone to truly love him, and he can’t believe that fate has given him a chance in the form of Lord High vampire, Belleron Liatos. But how can he be the perfect “beloved” when he is in fact so broken inside… Broken into three separate pieces to be exact. How can he ever explain all that he is to his one true love…
And there is no way he will be able to hide/supress his inner being(s)
Bell was pretty surprised, finding out his “beloved” turned out to be a shifter with apparent control issues. What he is even more surprised about.. is what he sees lurking when he looks into the eyes of his love…and how much it’s pulling him in.
I loved this series when I started it, but I love it even more now. It is exactly what I look for in a shifter/vampire story. It kept me at the edge of my seat while still making me laugh and swoon. I even cried a little tear!
If you love vampires and shifters as much as I do, then you should definitely give this one a try. I was a bit surprised with the medium steam-level because I am used to the very steamy “Nothing Special” series by A.E. Via. No worries though, there is still some very nice sexing going on !!
I myself can’t wait for the next book which I am sure (read hope) will be Mac’s.
